Literature History Daily is an Amazon Alexa skill that surfaces a curated literary history fact each day — landmark publication dates, Pulitzer Prize wins, Nobel Prize announcements, bestseller milestones, and award moments from classic literature to today. This policy explains what information the skill does and does not collect.
Literature History Daily stores your Alexa user ID (an anonymous identifier assigned by Amazon) in order to deliver daily updates to the Alexa home screen widget. This identifier does not include your name, email address, Amazon account details, or any other personally identifying information. It is used solely to push widget content to your device and is not shared with any third party.
No other personal information is collected, stored, or transmitted by this skill.
Voice interactions with Alexa are processed by Amazon in accordance with Amazon's own Privacy Notice. Literature History Daily does not have access to raw audio recordings. Alexa passes only the recognized intent (e.g., a request to open the skill) to the skill's code.
The skill does not log or store any records of individual usage beyond the Alexa user ID described above. Amazon may collect aggregated, anonymized usage metrics as part of the Alexa platform — this is governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice, not this policy.
Author portraits displayed in the skill are sourced from Wikimedia Commons under public domain or Creative Commons licenses. All images are stored in Amazon S3. No personal information is transmitted to Wikimedia during normal skill use.
On Echo Show and other screen-enabled devices, the skill displays a QR code linking to Amazon search results for books and literature-related products via the Amazon Associates affiliate program. Scanning this QR code will take you to Amazon.com, which is governed by Amazon's own Privacy Notice.
